In addition, we want to include short contributions from our local community. If you have a translation of a poem, song, scene from a play, or any form of literature you are championing or have written, please submit your idea before January 15th, 2012, so we can consider it for part of our celebration.
During the past few years Tant per Tant has translated and produced Catalan and Canadian plays on both sides of the Atlantic. This year the company is expanding its mandate to include international translations of drama from other parts of the world. As a consequence we have renamed the Catalan Connection the International Connection.
Tant per Tant believes passionately that our community can rub shoulders with the best international ideas in the global artistic community. In the fall of 2012, the company will mark the culmination of its play exchange project when three Canadian plays and their playwrights will tour Catalonia. Those plays are It is Solved by Walking, by Governor General’s Award Winner Catherine Banks, Burning Vision, by Métis playwright Marie Clements, and Rearview, by Saskatoon Francophone playwright Gilles Poulin-Denis.
As we move forward in our Global Connection, please join us in January and February as we continue to look at exciting new voices that can bring new perspectives to our lives in Saskatoon.
